Job summary

Republic Services in Santee, CA is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support the Environmental Manager in data collection, reporting, and operation of environmental systems across multiple divisions. You will supervise field staff, conduct storm water compliance activities, site audits, and oversee environmental training, with responsibilities spanning air, water, solid waste, and recycling programs.

Qualifications

• 4 years knowledge and/or experience related to environmental science, engineering, geology or related science.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret environmental regulations and reports.

Responsibilities

• Collects, reports, and tracks environmental monitoring at relevant locations.
• Performs and oversees site audits, monthly environmental reports, and related sampling and reporting.
• Oversees landfill monitoring and operation/maintenance of gas extraction or leachate systems.
• Coordinates and conducts environmental training for technicians, managers, and staff.
• Supports project management for construction-related environmental tasks and vendor coordination.
