Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead landfill engineering, permitting, and regulatory compliance initiatives. You will manage budgets, oversee consultants, and coordinate across operations to optimize site development and post‑closure activities.

The role emphasizes strong project management, data reporting, and collaboration with regulators, investors, and internal teams to advance sustainability goals and ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

• > PE or CPGeologist designation required.
• > Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (air, water, solid waste).
• > Excellent project management and communication skills.
• >Ability to read and interpret complex regulatory and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage landfill cell and site construction projects, including scheduling and third‑party QC.
• Oversee permit applications, regulatory interfaces, and site expansion plans.
• Coordinate cost tracking for engineering, operations, and closure/post‑closure.
• Prepare regulatory notifications and responses; support acquisitions and due diligence.
• Supervise Environmental Technicians and Specialists; hire, train, and evaluate staff.
• Maintain environmental data review, reporting, and compliance with regulations.
