Job summary

Westlake’s Natrium site in West Virginia seeks a seasoned environmental leader to direct all Health, Safety and Environmental activities, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement. You will lead the Environmental Team and drive collaboration with manufacturing stakeholders to develop site improvement plans and actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field.
• 10 years progressive environmental, operations, or engineering experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations as applicable to petrochemical plants and general manufacturing.
• Strong collaboration, facilitation, organization, interpersonal and computer skills, with a good working knowledge of related databases and applications, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capable of developing and managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and engaged leadership and development to the Natrium Environmental Team.
• Acting as a role model and leader for the Natrium Environmental Team, including promoting collaboration with manufacturing stakeholders to develop site improvement plans and actions.
• Ensure all necessary regulatory permitting, monitoring of operations, recordkeeping, reporting, and regulatory requests are met.
• Assimilate internal data relative to environmental compliance and manage action plans to ensure continuous compliance.
• Report Safety, Health or Environmental issues promptly to the Sr. HSE Manager.
• Coordinate development of proactive management systems for tracking upcoming environmental regulations and compliance programs.
• Manage implementation of compliance strategies including EPA/WVDEP requirements and permits.
