Job summary

Georgia-Pacific seeks an Environmental Manager to support the Port Hudson Mill in Zachary, Louisiana. You will lead environmental programs, ensuring compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across environmental systems and operations.

Collaborate with mill leadership, operations, and regulatory agencies to drive sustainable performance and safe, compliant production. This role emphasizes proactive risk control and cross-functional partnerships.

Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience interpreting, applying, and overseeing environmental regulations, permits, and compliance requirements related to air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, waste management, or chemical management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for all environmental programs at the Port Hudson Mill, ensuring compliance with environmental requirements while supporting operations.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and reliability teams to identify environmental risks and implement compliant solutions.
• Own the mill's environmental compliance programs, including air permitting, wastewater, stormwater, waste management, and reporting.
• Serve as primary environmental liaison with regulatory agencies, leading permit negotiations and inspections.
• Lead the EMS and drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.
