Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Pennington-based environmental team. The role supports compliance and stewardship for Naheola operations, with home-based duties and occasional travel to regional facilities.

Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential for success. You will partner with operations, regulators, and peers to implement waste, water, and air programs, including SPCC, NPDES, and other permitting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Environmental regulatory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with a water, waste, or air compliance focus.

Responsibilities

• Leverage technology enablers and best practices to drive environmental programs (waste, water, air) to be more resilient and efficient.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies; partner with operations teams to meet environmental obligations.
• Develop knowledge of mill processes and their impact on environmental performance.
• Assist with compliance programs for air, water and waste regulations (CEMS, LDAR, NPDES, BMP, SPCC, FRP, storm water, wetlands, universal waste, recycling).
• Support field verifications of regulatory compliance obligations (SPCC follow-ups, Stormwater inspections, CEMS audits).
• Create and implement mobile inspections to meet water and waste compliance obligations.
