Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Energy’s Northern Natural Gas environment team seeks an Environmental Compliance professional to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental regulations across project development, permitting, construction, and operations.

You will interpret laws, prepare and file reports for agencies, coordinate permit applications, conduct audits and trainings, and travel to remote sites as needed to support company activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience.
• Expert knowledge of environmental regulations and laws.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Supports various departments in complying with environmental regulations.
• Interprets applicable environmental laws, regulations and policies.
• Develops and maintains documentation for environmental compliance programs.
• Coordinates planning, cost estimating and ESAs, and resource evaluations.
• Writes and edits environmental reports for FERC and submits permit applications.
• Monitors regulatory initiatives and liaises with agencies as needed.
• Coordinates waste management and remediation activities.
• Conducts environmental training and audits.
• Coordinates emergency response activities.
