Job summary

Stantec seeks a mid-level Environmental Inspector II to support a broad range of environmental permitting and project delivery across mid-Atlantic sites. You will join the Environmental Services team to help secure regulatory approvals, manage field inspections, and ensure compliance for land disturbing activities.

Responsibilities include coordinating with agencies, preparing permit documents, and supporting HSE initiatives within project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Experience with VPDES/SWPPP, permitting and environmental compliance.
• Strong writing and reporting abilities with regulatory focus.
• Familiarity with VA DEQ inspections and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform ESC, SWPPP and VWP inspections for sensitive projects and high-profile clients.
• Manage VPDES/VWP projects and support staff to maintain project compliance.
• Communicate with client representatives and agency personnel to ensure consistent execution.
• Provide technical and regulatory support from pre-permitting to post-approval stages.
• Prepare permit applications and coordinate agency comment responses.
• Support HSE policies and coordinate with HSE professionals during all project phases.
