Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mid-level Environmental Inspector II to provide technical support on diverse projects within the Environmental Services team. You will help secure regulatory approvals, support permitting, and ensure compliance for land-disturbing projects in the mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities include inspections, permitting support, and coordination with agencies and clients. The role emphasizes strong writing, regulatory knowledge, and teamwork in a dynamic environmental consultancy.

Qualifications

• Experience with VPDES/SWPPP and permitting processes.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with wetlands, natural resources, and regulatory permitting.

Responsibilities

• Perform ESC, SWPPP and VWP inspections for sensitive projects and high-profile clients.
• Manage VPDES/VWP projects and support staff for compliant delivery.
• Coordinate with client representatives and agency personnel to ensure consistent project execution.
• Provide technical and regulatory support during pre- and post-permitting stages.
• Prepare permit applications with supporting documentation and agency responses.
• Ensure work is completed within time frames and budget.
• Assist in creating technical documents for regulatory submissions.
• Support Health, Safety and Environment policies and collaborate with HSE professionals.
• Participate in team and independent work.
