Job summary
Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a mid-level Environmental Inspector II to support a range of permitting projects within the Environmental Services team. The role centers on regulatory compliance, permit applications, and coordination with agencies and clients.
The position emphasizes strong technical writing, budget awareness, and collaborative work across pre- and post-permitting stages, within diverse projects in the mid-Atlantic region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with VPDES/SWPPP, permitting, SWPPP, pollution prevention, and environmental permit compliance.
- Familiarity with VDOT VSMP, ESCCC, MS4 programs including C-107.
- Certification as VA DEQ ESC/SWM Inspector.
Responsibilities
- Perform ESC, SWPPP, and VWP inspections for sensitive projects.
- Manage VPDES/VWP projects and support staff to maintain compliance.
- Coordinate with client representatives and agencies for project execution.
- Provide regulatory support during pre- and post-permitting stages.
- Prepare permit applications with supporting documentation.
- Deliver work within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Assist in creating technical documents for regulatory submissions.
- Support HSE policies and coordinate with HSE professionals.
- Participate in team and independent project work.
