Job summary

City of Richland's Public Works Department is seeking an Environmental Compliance Technician to perform inspections, sampling, permitting, and monitoring of wastewater pretreatment and stormwater systems, while coordinating with industrial users to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role supports environmental programs and requires an AAS in a related field and at least one year of relevant experience; a valid driver's license and Flagger certification within six months of hire are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in wastewater or environmental field required.
• One year of experience in stormwater or wastewater treatment, pretreatment programs, or related areas.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, sampling, permitting, and monitoring for wastewater pretreatment and stormwater systems.
• Work with industrial users to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and support environmental protection initiatives.
