Job summary

Richland County Government is seeking personnel to install, test, inspect, locate, troubleshoot, evaluate, monitor, maintain and repair all components of the county’s water distribution and wastewater systems.

The role involves preparing records, assisting with construction projects, operating heavy equipment, and working outside regular hours including on-call, nights, holidays, and weekends. Strong safety practices and data accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires one year of relevant experience.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license; South Carolina CDL preferred and B CDL within 18 months.
• Must obtain Class “D” Water Distribution and/or “D” Wastewater Collections within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, inspect, locate, troubleshoot, evaluate, monitor, maintain and repair water distribution and wastewater systems.
• Prepare and maintain accurate work records.
• Assist with construction and installation projects.
• Operate heavy equipment and respond to work orders.
• Attend meetings and trainings to improve knowledge and skills.
