Job summary

The City of Richland is seeking an Engineering Technician III (Electrical Engineering) to support utility design, inspections, and construction projects. This role performs technical work under supervision and requires knowledge of CADD, GIS, and field verification of electrical systems.

Required qualifications include an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology and five years of related experience; a valid driver's license and flagger certification within six months are also required.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field.
• Five years of electrical engineering, engineering technology, construction inspection, or electric utility project experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Flagger Certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with the public, contractors, and utility reps, providing accurate information.
• Inputs engineering calculations and data into CAD tools and reports.
• Performs complex drawings and mapmaking to support projects.
• Designs low voltage utility systems and road/utilities under supervision.
• Conducts on-site inspections and prepares inspection reports for routine projects.
• Performs routine utility locates and cost reporting for projects.
