Job summary

NAVFAC NORTHWEST is seeking an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST within the ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION. You will develop and oversee environmental compliance initiatives to meet regulations for water usage, discharge, and pollution control.

The role involves guiding internal teams, reviewing project plans, conducting risk assessments, and managing CWA programs including permit applications, SWPPPs, and EMS improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing assessments to ensure environmental compliance with the Clean Water Act.
• Experience preparing official correspondence, reports, and environmental permits and related documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local laws for the Clean Water Act.
• Leading or assisting in managing, administering, and providing environmental support for the Clean Water Act Program and other environmental program areas.
• Interpreting and applying laws, regulations and standards applicable to the Clean Water Act and other environmental laws, regulations, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee environmental compliance initiatives to meet regulations for water usage, discharge, and pollution control.
• Provide guidance to internal environmental specialists, engineering teams, and the Environmental Compliance Core by reviewing project plans, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring EMS alignment.
• Lead the CWA regulated discharges by preparing permit applications and coordinating with regulatory agencies.
• Administer the CWA Program by conducting site inspections, developing SWPPPs, implementing BMPs, and correcting deficiencies through corrective action plans.
