Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Kingsville, TX invites applications for an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Engineer/Physical Scientist to serve as Environmental Media Manager in the Environmental Division.

The role acts as the technical expert on CAA/EPCRA, CWA/OPA, and RCRA; conducts environmental inspections, reviews projects and permits, prepares regulatory reports, and develops training programs for installation operations.

Qualifications

Specialized experience in ensuring environmental compliance and program oversight.
Experience collecting data on chemical or waste properties.
Experience overseeing environmental programs at an installation.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical expert on CAA/EPCRA regulations for the Installation Commanding Officer.
Serve as technical expert on CWA fuel storage tank and OPA spill response regulations.
Serve as technical expert on RCRA underground fuel storage tank regulations.
Conduct environmental inspections to determine permit and regulation compliance.
Inspect fuel storage tank systems and operations for regulatory compliance.
Inspect air emission units and operations for regulatory compliance and permits.
Prepare reviews and reports to regulatory agencies and develop permit applications.
Implement reviews, revise or provide comments on environmental plans for programs.
Review and provide comments for maintenance and project scopes of work, contracts, and drawings.
Develop and conduct environmental training relevant to installation operations.
