Job summary

Ohio EPA seeks an Administrative Professional 2 to support the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR) at the Lazarus Government Center in Columbus, OH. You will handle correspondence, public notices, and fee processing, coordinating with technical and legal staff to close projects efficiently.

You will also research and organize information for decision making, manage public records requests, and maintain files and archives, ensuring accurate records and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
• OR completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college.
• OR 6 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 1, 16871.
• OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Support DERR’s remedial and environmental cleanup programs.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and public notices for formal agency actions.
• Handle project fee collection and processing while coordinating project closure documents with technical/legal staff.
• Research, compile, and organize information to support the division’s decision‑making.
• Manage public records requests, scan/archive documents, maintain files and support records retention activities.
• Assist staff with administrative tasks like database research and referencing, stakeholder communication, mail distribution, and inventory management.
