Job summary

Pace Analytical Services in Palmer, MA is seeking a Scientist in our Wet Chemistry department to apply your passion for science by analyzing environmental samples and ensuring the integrity of data that protect communities and ecosystems.

You will perform hands-on analysis, review results, document procedures, calibrate instruments, and work in a team with PPE provided. A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required or equivalent experience; Pace provides training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other STEM field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing PPE.
• Willingness to receive training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze environmental samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods looking for environmental contaminants.
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
