Job summary

Eurofins USA Environment Testing in Lancaster, PA is seeking an Associate Chemist to prepare and analyze environmental samples using approved methods. The role focuses on volatile organic compounds and GC/MS, with training provided and first shift hours 6am–2:30pm, Monday through Friday.

The position requires a BS/BA in Chemistry or related field (or 2 years of lab experience) and English proficiency. Strong data recording and attention to quality are essential for accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Chemistry or related field, Associate Degree, or 2 years of related laboratory experience in lieu of degree.
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including reading, writing and speaking in English.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Previous experience with wet chemistry
• Previous experience in a lab or production setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
• Able to interpret written materials and communicate findings effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose practical solutions.
• Applies critical thinking to evaluate options and make decisions.
• Effective collaboration skills to contribute to team goals and support department productivity goals
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples using standard techniques.
• Perform chemical analysis using standard techniques.
• Record and report data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance.
• Competency in complex instrumentation software (training is provided).
• Document training records and ensure accuracy of IDOCs/DOCs.
• Manage QC samples such as MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT.
• Follow proper protocols for VOC and GC/MS methods where applicable.
• Assist in other laboratory areas as needed.
