Job summary

SmartLam North America in Dothan, AL is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the Environmental, Safety, and Health program on-site. You will plan OSHA-compliant policies, educate staff, and oversee accident investigations and training to prevent health issues.

The role requires a strong background in regulations, data analysis, and report writing, with at least a bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience. Office and manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, or a related scientific field.
• Five years of related experience.
• OSHA Knowledge required.
• Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
• Working knowledge in producing reports.
• Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
• Working knowledge of safety management information system
• Certificate in occupational health and safety preferred.
• Emergency First Responder certificate preferred, required once employed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement OHSA policies and programs.
• Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
• Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis.
• Review existing policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all the rules and regulations.
• Enforce preventative measures.
• Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions.
• Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations regarding PPE, inspecting PPE as required and replacing PPE as needed.
• Responsible for new hire safety orientation and training as needed.
• Prepare and present reports on accidents, violations and causes.
