We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to support and strengthen environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs within a manufacturing environment. This role serves as a technical resource for EHS compliance, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with cross-functional teams to promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or industrial operations, a strong understanding of EHS regulations, and the ability to lead projects that enhance safety performance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical resource for environmental, health, and safety compliance, ensuring adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Assist in maintaining environmental management system certifications and ensure ongoing audit readiness.
- Provide backup support for site EHS leadership when needed.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses, implementing corrective and preventive actions to reduce future risk.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and project teams to integrate EHS requirements into new equipment installations, facility improvements, and operational changes.
- Lead or support safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives that drive continuous improvement across the site.
- Represent the organization during interactions with regulatory agencies, auditors, and insurance representatives on technical EHS matters.
- Maintain expertise in key safety programs, including machine safeguarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Promote a positive safety culture by coaching, influencing, and engaging employees at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Professional safety or auditing certification, or willingness to obtain one, is preferred.
- Experience leading EHS initiatives, projects, or cross-functional teams is a plus.

Salary of $90,000 - $97,000 annually + benefits
