This role involves preparing customs entries, maintaining compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various teams. Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of customs brokerage experience and excellent organizational skills. Competitive salary range is $55,000 - $75,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in customs brokerage or import operations for a freight forwarder or customs brokerage.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations and HTS classification.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

We are currently looking for a Customs Entry Writer to join our freight forwarding client in Chicago. This is a key role in ensuring accurate and timely documentation for international shipments, while maintaining compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and internal quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit customs entries for air, ocean, and ground shipments
• Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and ensure duty/tax compliance
• Track shipments to ensure timely release and delivery
• Coordinate with internal teams, carriers, and government agencies
• Maintain accurate records in line with CBP audit standards
• Stay current on customs regulations and compliance changes
• Perform other duties as assigned
