Job summary
General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Weld Engineer to evaluate and propose manufacturing processes and equipment for body shop welding, fastening, sealing and adhesive applications. The role focuses on maintenance, implementation and continuous improvement of process controls within the welding and assembly environment.

Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week.
- Must be willing to work in a plant environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide welding engineering support to the Body production organization.
- Support welding processes: spot, MIG, plasma, laser welding; aluminum spot welding; sealer & adhesive applications; clinch & rivet.
- Troubleshoot plant floor issues and participate in root-cause analysis.
- Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing engineers, skilled trades and production teams.
- Assist with process validation for new equipment/builds, installation and start-up.
- Collaborate with engineering/production teams on quality, warranty and cost improvement.
