Colliers Engineering & Design in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Entry-Level Waterway Structures Engineer to join our Water team. You will perform calculations, assist with designs for structures near water, and collaborate with senior engineers on large infrastructure projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree and pursue an EIT, with CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and strong communication. This full-time, on-site role offers growth opportunities and exposure to major

Qualifications

Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
EIT candidates preferred.
Interest in Structural Engineering projects on or near water; prior experience preferred but not required.
CAD (AutoCAD, MicroStation) skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering calculations and create construction cost estimates.
Work with senior engineers to create project designs for structures on or near the water.
Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines and respond to RFIs.
Conduct field inspections and surveys in support of design and construction efforts.
Research and apply code provisions to design.
Research design alternatives and document findings for project engineer/manager.
Develop drawings while applying changes and corrections as needed.
