Job summary

Biogensys is seeking an Environmental Program Specialist for our client in Trenton, NJ. The role focuses on water infrastructure funding, compliance, and data collection. You will support outreach, assist with EPA reporting, and help manage grants and surveys in a collaborative office setting.

Ideal candidates are entry-level with a BS in environmental fields and strong communication, data management, and Excel skills. This 6–12 month project offers hands-on experience in SRF processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Science/Environmental fields.
• Strong communication and data management skills.
• Entry-level with a 6–12 month project focus on water infrastructure funding and compliance.
• Willingness to learn specialized environmental database programs and software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, NJEMS, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Program Outreach: Contact public water systems to provide information and assistance regarding infrastructure financing; facilitate the collection, verification, and submission of system data for the EPA's Drinking Water Infrastructure Needs Survey (DWINSA).
• Compliance Support: Help meet EPA reporting mandates and guide project submissions through the State Revolving Fund Process.
• Grants & Surveys: Assist in completing and processing grant applications and administering federal grants.
• Data & Studies: Plan and conduct surveys and data collection to evaluate community infrastructure needs.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform routine clerical work, manage digital files, and route information according to department regulations.
• Communication: Answer phone calls and emails professionally, take accurate messages, and handle general inquiries.
