Job summary

The City of Bentonville Water Utilities seeks an entry-level Wastewater Collections Worker to assist with maintenance, repair, and new installations under supervision. You will operate heavy equipment, assist with televising mains, and support traffic control and safety on job sites.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience, plus the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months and a Class I Wastewater Operator License within 24 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year related experience.
• Must reside within 30-minute radius of Water Utilities office to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to obtain Class A CDL within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain Class I Wastewater Operator License within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assists in ensuring wastewater collection system is operated and maintained per regulations.
• Assists in installation, repair, replacement, cleaning, and televising of mains and services.
• Measures, cuts, and installs pipes and fittings (iron, steel, clay, plastic).
• Operates dump trucks, tractors, backhoes, excavators, jetter/vacuum trucks, CCTV equipment.
• Provides traffic control and acts as safety spotter on streets or in ditches.
• Maintains crew vehicles and equipment, keeps inventory, cleans and stores tools.
• Assists in removal and replacement of landscaping, sidewalks, and driveways.
• Willing to work rotational standby and overtime as needed.
• First responder in citywide emergencies; performs assigned tasks as needed.
