Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. is seeking a full-time entry-level Engineer to join our Transportation business unit in Illinois. The position requires 0–2 years of experience and Civil Engineering fundamentals.

You will work under a licensed engineer to develop PS&E, and prepare 3D models for construction use. Responsibilities include teamwork to provide municipal, county, and state transportation engineering services, and assisting in reports and feasibility studies.

Qualifications

• Entry-level civil engineering role requiring 0–2 years of experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a background check and driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop PS&E (plans, specifications and estimates) under supervision.
• Create quality 3D models for design to be used in construction.
• Collaborate on transportation engineering services for municipal, county and state agencies.
• Assist in preparing reports and feasibility studies.
