Job summary

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Engineer to join our Transportation business unit in Marion, IL. This entry-level position requires 0–2 years of experience and offers the opportunity to work under a licensed engineer on municipal, county, and state projects.

The role focuses on developing PS&E, preparing 3D models for construction, and supporting reports and feasibility studies while collaborating with a project team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of MicroStation and PowerGePak SS4/OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Work under a licensed engineer to develop PS&E.
• Prepare quality 3D models for design to be used in construction.
• Collaborate on transportation engineering services for municipal, county and state agencies.
• Assist in preparing reports and feasibility studies.
• Complete assigned tasks within a project.
