Job summary

American Electric Power seeks an entry-level Station Engineer in the Transmission System Operations Engineering (TSOE) group. You will support commissioning, outages, and alignment of as-built records with system drawings to ensure safe, reliable grid operation.

The role emphasizes adherence to NERC standards, with supervision provided by a senior engineer. On-site work is required at New Albany, OH (and related sites).

Qualifications

• This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program ABET accredited.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a PE is encouraged and preferred.
• Masters/PhD option may satisfy degree requirement if ABET-accredited Bachelor's program is completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry level engineering work activities and projects under supervision.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with NERC and industry standards for transmission grid changes.
• Review system outages and project information to align as-built conditions with records.
• Provide support for commissioning and verification of planned and unplanned work on the transmission grid.
