Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking an entry-level Station Engineer/Engineering Technologist Associate for the Transmission System Operations Engineering (TSOE). The role supports compliance with NERC standards and assists with commissioning, outages review, and as-built verification on the transmission grid.

Based on site in New Albany, OH or Salem, VA, the position offers SG6 pay between $84,000 and $90,000 with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred.
• Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology can satisfy degree requirements if they obtain a PE license.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to Transmission Field Services for final commissioning and verification of planned and unplanned work on the transmission grid.
• Review upcoming system outages for applicable configuration changes.
• Review engineering drawings and project information to ensure records align with as-built condition.
• Perform root cause analysis on discrepancies to identify process improvements and ensure accurate facility ratings.
