Job summary

American Electric Power seeks an entry-level Station Engineer to assist the Transmission System Operations Engineering (TSOE) team. You will support commissioning, outage reviews, and alignment of records with as-built conditions.

The role emphasizes engineering knowledge, leadership, and problem-solving, with opportunities to develop professional licensure and contribute to grid reliability on-site in New Albany, Ohio or Salem, Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination is encouraged and preferred.
• On-site work in New Albany, OH or Salem, VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to Transmission Field Services during final commissioning and verification of planned and unplanned work on the transmission grid.
• Review upcoming system outages for applicable configuration changes.
• Review engineering drawings and project information to ensure records match as-built conditions.
• Perform root cause analysis on discrepancies to identify process improvements and ensure accurate facility ratings.
