Job summary

W D Wright Contracting Inc in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Traffic Controller to join our field team. This entry-level role starts at or near the $15–$16/hour range, with a $1,500 sign-on bonus for new hires and on-the-job training.

You will set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones, wear PPE, and follow ATSSA and DOT guidelines to keep workers and pedestrians safe. No prior experience required, but candidates must be 18+, pass a drug screen, and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a smartphone with internet access for timekeeping and communication to receive work schedule.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain.
• Pass a drug screen prior to employment and maintain a drug free status.
• Be able to stand throughout your entire shift, hand and arm movement is required.
• The position does not allow for frequent breaks.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Be physically capable of performing all flagging duties.
• Have reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Responsibilities

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips according to ATSSA and DOT regulations.
• Load and unload work zone equipment to and from the company vehicle at the job site.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork in a timely manner before leaving the last job site.
• Wear and maintain proper PPE in accordance with Wright specific policy.
• Ensure that company vehicles are kept clean and orderly and inform management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Review start time and address of job site or meeting location as established and sent by office scheduler via company app.
• Read and understand Wright safety manual and employee handbook.
• Reports directly to a Field Supervisor.
• Other job duties as assigned.
