Job summary

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia for Traction Power Intern opportunities. The internship supports Summer 2027 opportunities with Day 1 onboarding required at an AECOM office. Candidates should be pursuing Electrical Engineering and have at least one year of study

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related and must have completed at least one year of study.
• Graduates who will continue with a Master’s degree are eligible to apply; recent grads must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s program in the most recent term.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and analysis of traction power distribution systems, including substations, OCS, and third rail systems.
• Support development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
• Perform calculations related to voltage drop, current flow, and power system performance.
• Assist in preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Conduct field inspections and site visits to gather data and observe construction activities.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of traction power equipment; support maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems.
• Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
