Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems is seeking an entry-level Test Engineer to support planning, setup, and execution of tests on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems for military vehicles. You will work with instrumentation, data acquisition equipment, environmental and performance tests, and assist in troubleshooting test issues.

The role offers exposure to MIL-STD-810 based testing, fixtures design, and collaboration with program managers, engineers, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree.
• 0-1 year engineering position experience and internship/co-op experience are desirable.
• Proficient with MS Office, schematics, data acquisition, and basic scripting.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot using test instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Learn test equipment, methods, and MIL-STD-810 related procedures.
• Develop test plans and reports for subsystem testing on military vehicle components.
• Perform environmental testing of subcomponents and subsystems.
• Sketch fixtures for mounting items on shaker tables.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, and quality teams to tailor test plans.
• Follow root cause corrective action processes for test issues.
• Create and maintain test schedules and resources.
• Prepare weekly status summaries for management.
• Assist technicians in learning instrumentation technologies.
• Coordinate with lab technicians and subject-matter experts as required.
• Communicate program issues and updates with leadership.
• Set up weekly tag-up meetings to track progress.
• Occasionally work weekends to meet test windows.
• Experience in military vehicle firing range and field testing preferred.
