Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an entry level Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team in the Operating Room. You will assist the surgeon by handing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and helping prepare OR setups for a variety of procedures.

Under supervision, you will work with the surgical team to ensure safe patient care, proper instrument counts, and efficient room turnover. This role offers day/evening shifts and opportunities for growth within the perioperative

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited Surgical Tech Program or completed military training in surgical tech.
• 0–12 months of healthcare experience.
• BLS certification.
• New graduates must obtain credential within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a professional manner as the Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room.
• Maintains aseptic technique during setup, draping and procedure.
• Scrubs on surgical cases and assists with instrument organization.
• Prepares instruments, supplies and equipment for cases.
• Performs counts with the circulator nurse according to policy.
• Assists with intraoperative medications and specimen handling.
• Supports room turnover and adheres to safety policies.
• Contributes to quality improvement and staff training.
