Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support sterile technique and OR operations in a fast-paced environment. You will assist in gowning, gloving, draping, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field across cases.

The position requires completion of a Surgical Technology program and BLS certification within six months, with no mandatory experience. Strong teamwork and patient care skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• BLS certification within 6 months unless exempted by leader.
• Ability to assist in aseptic prep and sterile technique for procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides clean, safe, and efficient operating room areas for patient care.
• Utilizes aseptic techniques in preparation of materials and equipment for procedures.
• Sets up the room for cases, moves equipment, and operates OR devices as needed.
• Functions as Second Assistant when required.
• Notifies staff of equipment and supply issues.
• Transports patients and equipment as needed.
• Maintains and inspects specialty carts and equipment for sterility and readiness.
• Performs patient positioning and transferring duties with proper technique.
