GAI Consultants, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Technical Specialist (Electrical Engineer) to join the Power Delivery Substation Department. The role emphasizes substation design and collaboration with clients and field teams from our office in Pittsburgh.

The successful candidate will have an Electrical Engineering background, internship or co-op experience, and strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with strong power concepts/AC analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication to work with internal team and external clients.
• Detail-oriented with professional client-first approach.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of low to high voltage substations and switchyards.
• Develop and revise drawings for one line, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding and materials lists.
• Coordinate with CAD operators to produce organized CAD drawings.
• Develop control and relay panel layouts and system specifications.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification.
• Assist with scope development and cost estimates for substation projects.
