Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent (required).
• Experience: One year in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Certification: National sterile processing certification due within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone promptly and assists callers to obtain needed items.
• Assembles supplies and places into case carts for procedures.
• Delivers case carts to the Surgery Department.
• Maintains back-up case carts and inventory for required areas.
• Performs cleaning and decontamination duties for instruments.
• Inspects, packages decontaminated instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
• Operates processing equipment and monitors sterilization processes.
• Adheres to safety, HIPAA, and departmental policies; maintains professionalism.
• Performs dispatch duties and supports SPD operations as needed.
