Job summary

UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs is seeking an entry-level Sterile Processing Technician for an onsite, full-time position in the Sterile Processing Central department. The role operates on days and offers hourly pay between $23.49 and $30.53 depending on experience.

Responsibilities include decontamination, sterilization, testing and documentation of instruments with a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Certified as CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (HSPA)
• Preferred: 3 months' certified experience

Responsibilities

• Performs instrument and equipment decontamination and cleaning following IFU's; disassembles items and selects appropriate cleaning method; visually inspects instruments and equipment before assembly and packaging.
• Performs appropriate sterilization of instrument and equipment based on IFUs; inspects external indicators, filters and labels.
• Performs routine cleaning and sterilizer testing, including biological monitoring, leak testing, and Bowie-Dick tests as appropriate.
• Documents work performed using instrument tracking software or paper documentation as required.
• Within scope of job, applies critical thinking, decisive judgement and can work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
