Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Fontana is seeking an entry-level Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This onsite role supports day-to-day accounting, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations under direct mentorship from the Accounting Manager.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field (or an equivalent practical track) and is proficient with Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables). Familiarity with Batchmaster or ERP systems is a plus and you are ready to contribute to month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience/associate degree).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
• Familiarity with ERP software Batchmaster is a plus.
• Strong numerical accuracy and high attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with high discretion.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounts and post routine journal entries.
• Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, verify approvals, and prepare weekly payment batches.
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and issue customer invoices, record incoming payments, and assist with soft collections outreach.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations; identify and investigate discrepancies.
• Month-End Close: Support the Accounting Manager/Controller with month-end close activities, accrued expenses, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Audit & Compliance Support: Maintain organized financial filing systems and pull documentation for internal/external audits or tax filings as requested.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide operational and numerical support on special financial projects as assigned.
