Job summary

Clean Energy Services in Millington, MD seeks an entry-level Solar O&M Technician I to assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting of commercial and utility-scale solar systems. You will support with drones, monitoring, and site safety under the Lead Technician.

The role emphasizes safety, ability to read drawings, and teamwork. Travel to multiple sites is required, and pre-employment drug testing will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of experience in solar, electrical, construction, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety and hand/power tool use.
• Ability to read and interpret site engineering drawings, maps, and equipment manuals.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Live within a 45‑minute drive of Millington, MD.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow written and verbal procedures/instructions.
• Good problem-solving and observation skills.
• Basic computer skills, including email, mobile apps, and digital work order systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on routine tasks.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the industry.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
• Ability to pass both pre-employment and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance/replacements of solar equipment (trackers, PV panels, disconnects, inverters, transformers, DAS/SCADA components).
• Assist with site inspections including security, fencing, vegetation, and safety items.
• Assist with warranty-related items with EPC and/or manufacturer.
• Assist with drone flights.
• Assist with safety documentation and daily/incident reports and CMMS tickets.
• Respond to scheduled and unscheduled service calls, including nights and weekends as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash, fall protection, and PPE requirements.
• Follow established NERC requirements.
• Maintain company assets (laptop, tools, testing equipment, PPE).
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and customers.
• Travel to other sites as needed for support.
