Job summary

Gulf Copper is seeking an entry-level QA/QC Inspector Apprentice to develop skills in quality assurance and control within a shipyard and fabrication shop environment. Under supervision, you will learn inspection techniques, industry codes, and documentation requirements.

You will assist inspectors, learn measurement methods, and help prepare inspection reports and quality records while following safety policies and working with multiple departments and clients.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to learn inspection methods and industry standards.
• Ability to perform field and shop inspections under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist QA/QC Inspectors with inspections of incoming materials, work in process, and finished products.
• Learn inspection techniques, measurements methods, and documentation procedures.
• Assist with preparation of inspection reports, sketches, and quality records.
• Participate in on-the-job training and company-sponsored quality records.
• Learn customer specifications, industry codes, and company procedures.
• Maintain inspection tools, equipment, and records under supervision.
• Observe and participate in customer and third-party inspections as assigned.
• Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements.
• Work as a team with multiple departments, clients, and contractors.
