PROPULSION CONTROLS ENGINEERING LLC in San Diego is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector I to perform in-process and final inspections, ensuring compliance with quality and reliability requirements. The role emphasizes adherence to safety practices and precise documentation of all tests.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of ship repair/yard experience, strong reading of blueprints, and proficient use of calibrated measuring equipment and Microsoft Office for reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in ship repair / shipyard related work with mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of ship repair technical specifications and industry requirements.
• Effective communication with ships personnel, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, customers and employees.
• Proficient with technical measuring and diagnostic equipment; ensure tools are calibrated.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-process and final testing and inspections to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Schedules, conducts, observes, records and submits testing results.
• Creates detailed quality reports and documentation for Test and Inspection Reports (TIRs) and related records.
• Performs quality assurance audits and surveillances as required.
• Assists Production Dept and customers with interpretation of quality requirements.
