Job summary

Pace Analytical Services in Auburn, MA is seeking a Scientist to join our environmental testing laboratory. In this role you’ll conduct hands-on analysis, ensuring the integrity and quality of environmental data that protect communities and ecosystems.

You’ll operate GC-MS and other instruments, document procedures and results, and maintain lab equipment. The position requires a chemistry background and the ability to work in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other STEM field.
• Must have 8 chemistry credit hours with labs.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, exposure to odors, and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Work with instruments such as GC-MS to analyze environmental samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods looking for environmental contaminants
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment
