Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX, is seeking an entry-level helper to assist skilled craftspersons with supportive duties under supervision. You will learn to read blueprints, identify tools, and help erect scaffolding and ladders on construction sites.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; previous field experience preferred.
Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work and materials.
Identify tools required and measure, mark, and cut materials to spec.
Assist skilled craftsmen in erecting and dismantling scaffolding, ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
Assist with construction, reinforcement, and dismantling pre-constructed scaffolds.
Assist with building and constructing wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.
