Job summary

Peak Toolworks in Jasper, IN is seeking an entry-level Saw Grinder I/Sandblaster to join the team. You will learn to operate and manage multiple machines for sharpening carbide saw blades.

This is a hands‑on role that requires attention to detail and a willingness to learn the tools and processes necessary to excel. Key responsibilities include operating grinding machines, inspecting blades for defects, performing brazing and repairs, and supporting shipping/receiving to keep operations smooth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow written work instructions.
• Basic understanding of shop mathematics and measurement techniques.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate a variety of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines used to sharpen/grind carbide saw blades.
• Inspect saw blades for cracks, chips, and necessary repairs.
• Perform repair tasks, including removing and replacing damaged tips using a torch and brazer shaft.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance (PM).
• Maintain proper material flow and production paperwork.
• Communicate shortages or production concerns to the team.
