Job summary

Wenger Manufacturing Inc. is seeking an entry-level grinder to prepare surfaces on manufactured parts. The role requires strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, plus ERP literacy to support production workflows.

Responsibilities include examining surfaces, selecting abrasives, operating grinders, and polishing to a smooth finish. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Examin es and feels surface of workpiece for defects.
• Selects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives and condition of metal and attaches to grinder.
• Starts grinder and moves it over surface of part to remove scratches, rust and burrs.
• Polishes ground area with finer abrasive to produce a smooth, unmarred surface.
• Replaces worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts.
• Operate lift truck with certification.
• Other duties assigned due to the need of the business.
• Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, machinery with moving parts.
• Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50lbs occasionally.
