Job summary

Peak Toolworks in Jasper, Indiana, is seeking an entry-level Saw Grinder I/Sandblaster to join our production team. You will learn to operate and manage multiple machines for sharpening carbide saw blades in a hands-on role that emphasizes safety, accuracy, and a willingness to learn.

This position focuses on grinding and sandblasting, inspecting blades for defects, performing basic repairs, and supporting shipping and receiving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow written work instructions.
• Basic understanding of shop mathematics and measurement techniques.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate a variety of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines used to sharpen/grind carbide saw blades.
• Inspect saw blades for cracks, chips, and necessary repairs.
• Perform repair tasks, including removing and replacing damaged tips using a torch and brazer shaft.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Complete and maintain all required production, quality, and inspection paperwork.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance (PM).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 6S requirements.
