Job summary

The City of Foley, AL is seeking an entry level ROW worker to clear rights-of-way under supervision. You will operate chainsaws, pole saws, hedgers, loaders, limb truck and dingo to trim and maintain trees along streets, while keeping equipment in good condition.

Responsibilities include traffic control per MUTCD, wearing PPE, and coordinating with the public and city staff. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required; you must obtain a Class B CDL within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within one year of hire.
• Successful applicants must pass a criminal background check (including driving history), pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate chainsaw, pole saw, hedger, loader, limb truck, and dingo to clear and maintain rights-of-way by trimming and maintaining all trees.
• Maintain all equipment and keep in ready condition.
• Place traffic cones and/or use traffic signs and flags to perform traffic control in accordance with the MUTCD, wearing proper PPE.
• Interact with the public, supervisors from all departments, co-workers, and office staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
