Job summary

The City of Foley is seeking an entry-level Rights-of-Way crew member to clear and maintain rights-of-way under the supervision of the ROW/Urban Forestry Crew Leader. You will operate a range of equipment, trim trees, and support traffic control while ensuring safety and reliability of the equipment used.

Responsibilities include performing duties with trucks and PPE, communicating with diverse teams, and maintaining a clean, ready condition of all gear.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• CDL Class B within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates a chainsaw, pole saw, hedger, loader, limb truck, and dingo to clear and maintain rights-of-way by trimming and maintaining all trees.
• Maintains all equipment and keeps in ready condition.
• Places traffic cones and/or uses traffic signs and flags to perform traffic control in accordance with the MUTCD manual, wearing proper safety vest and PPE, as needed.
• Interacts and communicates with a wide variety of groups and individuals including the general public, supervisors from all departments, co-workers, and office staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
