Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Relay Settings Engineer to design and implement protection schemes for substation and renewable energy projects. Hybrid work is available in Framingham, MA or Charlotte, NC, with opportunities to interact across client sites and remote offices.

Ideal candidates have a BSEE from an ABET-accredited program, internship experience, and the ability to travel as needed. Knowledge of relay devices (SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB) and related software is required or advantageous.

Qualifications

BSEE from ABET accredited institution with internship experience.
Willing to travel to customer sites and in-office/testing lab as needed.
Experience creating relay settings and logic diagrams.
Familiar with Aspen OneLiner and/or Siemens CAPE for coordination studies and fault analysis.
Preparation of protective relay coordination studies.
Ability to learn development of relay settings for microprocessor relays including SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB and others.

Responsibilities

Work with protection engineers and review relay setting packages.
Create logic diagrams for IEC61850 substations.
Work directly with clients and remote office staff.
Support project planning activities through design and construction.
Prepare relay settings from 4.16kV through 500kV including set points, diagrams, configuration files and documentation.
Solve challenging substation engineering problems.
