Job summary

IBM Infrastructure is seeking a QA/Test Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, performance, and security of enterprise software solutions. You will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies, automate coverage, and drive continuous quality improvements throughout the software lifecycle.

You will collaborate with developers, architects, product managers, and support teams to build quality into the development process and validate new features against requirements.

Qualifications

• Must understand software testing methodologies and QA principles.
• Experience designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, Shell).
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools.
• Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and command-line environments.
• Understanding of REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems testing.
• Knowledge of Git or similar source control systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and end-to-end test plans.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks, scripts, and test suites.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality in the development process.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Validate new features and bug fixes against functional and non-functional requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing and quality checks.
• Monitor quality metrics and suggest testing process improvements.
• Create and maintain test documentation and validation reports.
